Animals & Their Little Ones ❤️
We continued our journey into the fascinating world of “Animals and Their Babies.”
This time, children did more than just look at pictures or listen to stories. Through interactive lift-the-flap books, handmade animal props, role-play, and movement activities, children stepped into the animal world through meaningful hands-on experiences.
🦘 Kangaroo babies grow safely inside their mother’s pouch. We created our own “pouches” and hopped around like kangaroos while searching for our little joeys.
🐨 Koalas also have pouches! Children learned how koala babies hold onto their mothers and sleep peacefully high up in the trees.
🐧 Penguin babies hatch from eggs. We discovered how penguin fathers carefully protect and warm the eggs while standing in the icy cold environment.
🐘 Elephant calves stay close to their mothers and follow along with every big, heavy step. Children practiced moving like elephants and exploring their strong movements.
🐬The biggest surprise for many children was learning that seahorse babies are born from the father seahorse!
Through observing, imitating, moving, and pretending, children transformed knowledge into real experiences. When they hopped like kangaroos, gently cared for “penguin eggs,” and marched like elephants, learning became something they could feel, understand, and remember. ✨
To celebrate the arrival of Mother’s Day, children were inspired by Vincent van Gogh’s Sunflowers and created their own artwork to share their love and gratitude for their mothers.
